My Project Life
Lately the bf and I were talking about how we don’t document anything that’s happening in our lives. If you don’t count Instagram or Facebook we maybe, and I mean maybe, have two photo albums and both of those were gifts. I know, I know, it’s pretty bad. This is extremely uncharacteristic of me since I’m probably the most nostalgic person ever but strangely enough we really don’t have anything.
Around the same time my friend Åsa told me how she started her “Project Life” (she keeps track of her progress on her blog). Me being completely clueless when it comes to scrapbooking and her being a bonafide pro, she explained to me what Project Life was. It’s basically a completely simple approach to scrapbooking that doesn’t take tons and tons of time but still allows you to keep memories in a super organized and cute way. The Project Life kit includes everything you need to start your very own story: a binder, a core kit and photo pocket pages. The core kit includes tons of cards that your can easily place alongside your photos in the pocket pages in order to easily tell your story the way you want to. The usual process is to document your life on a regular basis and I think you’re basically meant to get one for each year. Continue reading »
Back To Basics
I’ve been all about basics lately. As much as I love looking at all the pretty clothes, dressing up and putting outfits together in my head, there’s nothing like “the uniform”. You know, one of those outfits you always return to when all else fails and all you feel like is casual because you’ve got a ton of things to do, errands to run, blog posts to write and kids to be entertained, and so 5-inch heels with a dress are just not an option? Yup, that uniform. A good pair of jeans, a practical bag, a pair of comfy sneakers, cool sunnies and a forever T-shirt can go a long way. And after that it’s just about spicing it up and accessorizing your outfit the right way and you can make even the most mundane errand look gooood.

Music Friday, Vol. 1
I’m starting a music Friday series in which I’ll be posting a short playlist of some of the tunes I’m currently listening to. I have a serious thing for music and have been an avid collector since I first got an iTunes account back in 2004. Since then my music library has gotten quite big so naturally I suffered a minor breakdown last week when my computer broke and I realized I have never backed up a single thing (please don’t judge me). Anyhow, my computer is fixed and my library intact so I’m really happy to share it with you. You can listen to it and praise my taste in music or you can wonder what I spend my money on, the choice is yours. The only thing I will say is this though: music makes my heart sing with joy (did you like that?) and I absolutely can’t imagine life without it. Sometimes it’s loud and funky, sometimes it’s mellow and calm but it’s always amazing…
P.S. Do you have Spotify? Good.

Freeze Your Jeans (No, Really Do It!)
After doing my usual Google Reader rounds this morning and reading up on ManRepeller’s latest post I was struck by something she wrote. She puts her jeans in the freezer to clean them! I know right. Now, I know you’re not supposed to wash your jeans often. Knowing this doesn’t keep me from washing mine very, very often because I’m weird and have apparently developed some sort of OCD notion where everything must be washed after one wear, including jeans. Don’t worry, I’m looking into it (my mental state that is).
In the meantime, I also did some research on this whole jeans freezing idea. A good pair of jeans is hard to come by these days, especially if you’re not willing (read: can’t) pay a month’s rent for them. In my case, the affordable jeans are either too short (read: cropped almost), too tight at the waist and too loose around the butt, or just overall not right. So when I find a pair that fits and that I can afford, I buy them and I wear them to death. And apparently it’s premature death since I also wash them a lot. Wear a lot, wash a lot. You’d think it’s logical. But noooo…
So, here’s what you can do to increase their lifespan… Continue reading »
Rainy Day, Bright Colors.
Rainy day? Check. Goofy grin? Check. Awkward stand that screams I’m hungry and cold and can’t decide which is worse? Check. Impromptu iPhone photo shoot that results in a photo with too much exposure editing and which does absolutely nothing to illustrate the previously mentioned rainy day? Check. Well, that about covers it. Happy Wednesday people, this was fun!
