Sometimes Sundays are for relaxing at home, sometimes they’re for spending a lovely day doing outdoorsy things and sometimes they’re for getting things done.
Getting the house in order and de-cluttering a little before winter has been on my mind for weeks now and today I finally got the “nerve” and just got started. If not now, then when, right?
Since I’ve been wanting to organize Lev’s room into a more play friendly space for a while now, I figured I’ll just get started with that. We mostly play in the living room so his room has been sort of just the place he sleeps in (and where we store miscellaneous items we don’t use on a daily basis). It was the same when Lara was little. But at around 2 1/2 we started transitioning more playtime into her room and now she happily plays there. It’s her space! And so I wanted to do the same with Lev, I want him to have a space where his toys are, where he feels comfortable and where we can play without interruptions like TV’s, computers etc.
LARA MADE THIS LION DRAWING IN ART CLASS SO WE FRAMED IT FOR HIS ROOM
Of course we all still play in the living room too but I feel that it’s important he knows his toys have a place and it’ll help get him into a routine of tidying up towards the end of the day. The system worked great for Lara and I’m hoping Lev gets into it too. Also it wouldn’t be so bad if I stopped tripping over cars and legos each evening!
Once we were sort of done with Lev’s room, Lara wanted to move things around as well but I told her we’ll get to that next weekend. I still need to pick some stuff at Ikea for Lev’s room and I’ve got an idea for Lara’s as well. She wasn’t too happy about it but I bribed her with a story and a pinky promise we’ll do it in a few days when dad gets home.
PRE NAP, POST LUNCH CUDDLES
IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN… COZY SLIPPERS
Then it was time for some meal planning and a Sunday movie. We watched Beethoven! I loved it when I was little. I’m so into 90’s movies lately.
Hope you had a great weekend too!
