Lara’s 2nd birthday is coming up in April (April 1st mind you) and we have decided to get her a play kitchen. We wanted to get her one for Christmas already but ultimately decided it was too big of a present and that we will wait until her birthday when she’s a little bigger. She absolutely loves pretend cooking and eating and every time she visits her friend (who’s mommy has the wonderful Baby Jungle blog), the first thing she does is runs to her room and jumps on her little kitchen. So, I just know it will be a great present, one she is going to love and be able to play with for a long time. I’ve since been looking, researching and considering different ones, Polona from Baby Jungle even found us an incredible deal on a white Moulin Roty kitchen + I also scouted some very cute KidKraft retro ones.
In all fairness, I know we still have some time before April Fool’s to make a decision but it doesn’t hurt to be prepared.
And then today, while checking Pinterest, I found this absolutely beautiful handmade wooden play kitchen from Morgan Odwyer’s shop on Etsy. All the knobs are turnable (not sure that’s a word but you get what I mean), the oven doors open with a magnet and all the elements are made of vinyl stickers.
It’s very pricy (about $310) and shipping costs are really high (the shop is based in Toronto) but since it’s so unique and I’m really into the whole massive wood furniture theme at the moment, I just wanted to share it with you all.
How much do you love it? Do you have any ideas or play kitchen finds? If so please let me know, I’d love to get her something different.
