When Lara was a baby I used to read this blog called Mila’s Daydreams, featuring a series of photographs of baby Mila “dreaming” during her naptime. The photos were stunning, adorable and clever. The series has since been transformed into a book called “When My Baby Dreams”.
Up to this day I’m bummed I didn’t have a pregnancy photo shoot, nor did I have newborn shoot for Lara; a true mistake I’m hoping to remedy next time around. In fact that would be one of top unsolicited tips to anyone about to have a baby. Don’t listen to your boyfriends/husbands/partners who say they’ll have someone take the photos at some point. It won’t happen and suddenly your kid is three and going to preschool (tearing up over here) and all you have are two newborn portraits from the hospital where you definitely don’t look like Kate Middleton. And a bunch of shameful BlackBerry pictures. Step up and arrange it yourself at a time and place that suits you best, hopefully after a glam session that will make you look like the previously mentioned duchess.
But that’s not the point. Here’s another baby photo series by photographer Anna Eftimie called “Blackboard Adventures” that’s kind of awesome. It may result in you wanting to get pregnant immediately so you could have baby portraits like these taken. It’s OK, I totally get it.
P.S Sorry about the abundance of photography appearing on this blog lately but I’ve discovered I’m becoming quite a sucker for it so you’re just going to have to deal with it. And you know that babies are particularly endearing.
P.S.2. Anyone else feeling like this post has a gazillion semi related stories gathered into one single text? I do.
