Oh this week’s faves are good. We have been freezing our booties off here in France (Southern France mind you!) so naturally I’ve been cozying up indoors and daydreaming about the days when it’s going to be hot again and I’ll be able to complain about it being too hot and how I want to live inside a refrigerator. The summer daydreaming part also mostly explains this week’s favorite look.
Favorite Link: Sous Style ( http://sousstyle.com/). Everything you would want to read with your morning cup of Java. Created by Pippa Lord, Photo Director at ELLE Magazine (yes, yes amazing!), Sous Style is a collection of diary entries from Pippa, people profiles, and tips on how to make your home and your dinner table a more perfect “imperfect” place (to borrow from the website’s manifesto). A real treat!
New obsession: Pinterest. I am loving (read: obsessing over) the idea of Pinterest as a place where you can pin and share all your different interests, interact with others and find things that inspire you. A literal never ending well of ideas. Although, already two years old, the social bookmarking site has recently been gaining more and more momentum, increasing its traffic by 7.5 million unique visitors between September and December 2011. Furthermore, it’s quickly becoming a top five referrer for several retailers according to data by Monetate. Pretty cool I say, just check out this infographic here.
Favorite Pinterest part: checking out all the different recipes and putting a personal twist on them. Yummm!
Favorite look: After exaggerated sleeves come the exaggerated armholes. I am absolutely loving this upcoming trend for the summer and this nautical dress is a perfect example. Light and breezy, you can cover it up with a jean jacket at the beginning of summer when the evenings are still chilly and you can rock it solo once it gets hot. Available at Karmaloop right here.
Music: Because it’s winter and the cold days are feeling rather mellow, I’ve been putting Lana Del Rey’s Blue Jeans and Video Games on constant repeat. She finally released her Born to Die CD, I’ve been waiting for this baby for months!
Favorite read: Modern Vintage by Emily Chalmers. Picked this up on Anthropologie around Christmas. An amazing look at how you can transform your home with some original vintage pieces into a space that most reflects you. The style is not for everybody but if vintage is up your corner it’s definitely worth a look and read. Not to mention it would make a spectacular coffee table book.
