Finally some computer time! Like real, alone in the house, focus on your laptop computer time. It’s hard to come by these days but I was actually expecting the lack of it this time around so I wasn’t so hard on myself these past couple of weeks. Going home for us always means tons of family time (as it should), lots of moving and driving around from one place to another and sleeping in a different house, apartment, bed every couple of days. I drive most of the stuff we brought from France for the holidays around in my car all the time so should the Apocalypse happen one of these days, Lara and I have all we need.
It’s fun but exhausting at the same time and incredibly hard to stick to a semblance of a routine, a fact I’m beginning to notice is taking a bit of a toll on a certain almost 4 year old so I’ll also be happy once we’re back in France, she’s back to her usual days and I start getting used to the idea of being home full time, writing and growing this belly baby of mine. By the way, second pregnancy? Waaaaaaaaayyyy different than the first time around. It’s going by so fast and with everything going on and spending 100% of my time day with Lara over the past couple of weeks, I’ve had times when I literally had to remind myself I’m pregnant.
So what have we been up to? Well, it’s a bit confusing but after spending New Year’s at my mom’s we went skiing for a few days. It was fun and Lara had her first skiing lessons, which was amazing to watch. Unfortunately, winter is being a bit weird right now (I’m assuming us humans are to blame for the strange weather) and snow is hard to come by, so by day three it looked like this is going to be it for us this year in terms of skiing. Then we went to the coast to spend a few quiet days just the two of us at the beach, hoping to catch some sunshine, which is also hard to come by these days. It was actually really relaxing having a few days of just pure mommy-daughter time and we really recharged our batteries. Thank God because after all the car miles I’ve been racking up I’m pretty sure I have a bright future as a truck driver or maybe even the Transporter?!
Then we went to my dad’s house to spend a few days there and now we’re just waiting for daddy to finally come home after three weeks with the national team.
And tomorrow? Well, tomorrow Vid and I are off to London for a little couple getaway. It’s probably (read: definitely) going to be our last one before the new baby arrives so we wanted to make sure we take advantage of these last couple of days of our vacation for some grownup time. Neither of us have ever been to London so needless to say we’re pretty darn excited. I already have my typical itinerary set up, which again looks like we’re going on a three week expedition and not a three day trip but hey, I like to be prepared. I’ll try and write up another post before we leave with what we’ve got planned but if you have any suggestions or must see/do things please, please let me know.
Alright, dropping iPhone camera roll of the past couple of days on you now…
