How about this six day radio silence, huh? We’ve had a few days off here in France last week, so Lara was home from daycare, I was off work and both of those together meant playtime was at 100% and productiveness was around 5%. Even the bf had a whole weekend off and we managed to squeeze a quick day trip to Toulouse on Saturday. It was so pretty but kind of cold so we didn’t stay very long. We went for a little walk, stopped by at their Adidas store, had an amazing apple crumble and then drove back to Montpellier. Of course yours truly forgot her camera so no pictures can be shown nor of Toulouse or the apple crumble. But take my word for it, it was delish. If you’re ever there you MUST stop by Le Flower’s Cafe and try it out. Or anything else on their menu for that matter.
And then Saturday night, I went our for a little dinner with a few girlfriends, had a drink or three or four and a great time. Every time I go out for a little girl’s night I have the best time but then take forever to get around to it again. I definitely need to do it more often.
And since the week and weekend were so much fun we just had to go out with a bang, which in our case means someone got sick. Lara got a fever and a “lovely” case of strep, most likely thanks to this changing weather Since then we’ve been holed up at home with a brief visit to her doctor, trying our best to keep her fever down. So far it hasn’t budged much but we’re hoping it goes down soon because, let me tell you, it’s no fun at all. Aside from the fact that she’s been super cuddly (which is rally nice) the nights have been pure torture, as is trying to get her to take her medicine.
Wish us luck!
Oh, and since I’ve been home not doing much else than trying to entrain a three year old and spend time in the kitchen, I’ll post a quick recipe later tonight for a super simple dish you can make when you’re pressed for time, feeling lazy, or have no clue what to make. Or all the above.
Be back soon…
