As lovely and productive as our weekend was, we woke up Monday morning with a less than fun stomach bug. More precisely Lev woke up with a stomach bug.
I didn’t quite realize something was up until he vomited all over the car during our school run at which point I turned the car around and started praying it’s not the infamous “gastro” as the French like to call the stomach flu.
We’ve been home ever since because I think that on top of that he also has a pretty nasty cough/cold. We’ve gotten rid of the stomach bug I think but as of last night he was still feverish so it’s probably going to be the doctor’s office for us today.
Then Lara complained of a tummy ache as well last night and despite her being better today we’ll see how that develops. Fun, right?
The one thing I’m not complaining about are all the extra cuddles I’ve been getting this week. Lev has always been snuggly but this week it’s been on another level. We haven’t been sleeping well either obviously and so I’ve been co-sleeping with him to try and get some extra shut eye and while it’s been sort of working for him, it hasn’t been that great for my beauty sleep. But OK, hopefully we’ll be germ free and sleeping again soon! And if not, who needs sleep, huh? (I do.)
THEY DO THIS THING WHERE THEY PRETEND TO FALL ASLEEP ON TOP OF THESE CARS. I THINK IT’S HILARIOUS.
So we’ve been staying indoors, playing with cars, watching cartoons, taking couch naps… I’ve also made some home made chicken noodle soup and loaded the rest of us up on vitamins in order to avoid catching something. Ahhh the joys of late autumn/winter time…
HIS FAVORITE SPOT, WATCHING THE CARS, BIRDS, RAIN, ANYTHING REALLY…
LOTS OF COFFEE FOR ME. LUCKILY, I HAVE MY OWN BARISTA.
Hope you’re staying healthy wherever you are!
