Another week and weekend have come and gone and we’ve been making the most of it. This past weekend was so much fun, Lari had friends over for a sleepover on Friday night and I’m always so excited about that too because it’s such a full house and there’s laughter and toys everywhere and she’s always so giddy about, it just makes me really happy too.
We had a ton of errands to run on Saturday because our fridge was pretty much on the empty side and my mom was coming in on Sunday so I wanted to be a little prepared for that but after Lev’s (and my) afternoon nap and a nice dose of Moana, I decided to just head to the beach with the kids to collect some seashells, run around and get a sweet dose of Vitamin D, completed with a nice little sunset. I’m so happy I took my camera with me because it was pretty darn glorious!
The seashells in general have been a huge hit this week. Lev and I decided to color some that were still around from last summer while Lari was in school on Wednseday and he was so thrilled to do it. And since Lara was a little upset about missing on all the fun, we decided to load up on some new ones on Saturday and so they’re currently drying on our kitchen counter waiting to be painted.
Yesterday we drove out to Marseille to pick up my mom, who’s in town visiting for a couple of days. It’s been a while since she’s been here (the last time she was here Lev was a month old), so we’ve all been pretty pumped for her visit. And I’m not going to lie, it’s only been 24 hours but already, having an extra set of hands around the house has been a total blessing.
Vid is doing better and better too but he’s still not allowed to walk for at least another week or so. It’s definitely been a little chaotic around the house but I have to say that I’m so proud of Lari, as she’s really been stepping up to help around the house and with the puppy. I’ve already started introducing the kids to chores such as vacuuming, emptying the dishwasher, setting the table, making the beds etc. and she’s really been so great about it, and it’s, of course, a huge help to me also. Lev also loves helping out but he’s more into helping me cook than anything else. It’s so cute to watch but he seems to really, really enjoy it. Especially when I make pasta for them in the evening, he’s so proud and even more excited to eat it than usual. He brings his little chair to the stove and announces he’s going to cook it. He stirs the sauce and then tastes it and goes: “Mmmm delicious!”. Maybe he’ll be a chef when he grows up. He’s definitely a foodie already. I made some kale lentil soup last week and he guzzled it like it was an ice cream smoothie!
