Hello 2017, Hello January

It’s been a little over a week of 2017 and I feel like I haven’t really gotten a second to really think about the new year and what’s coming. The holidays were pretty tiring on us in the end. Last week Lara got an allergic reaction to the antibiotics she had to take for scarlet fever, which she had the week before. The reaction was a rash that went all over her body and we initially thought it may be chicken pox. I had no idea how to travel back to Montpellier but since she had no other symptoms and the rash wasn’t really progressing into actual chicken pox, we went and traveled back home anyways.

On Friday our doctor finally confirmed it was probably an allergic reaction to penicillin so now we have to do more tests to figure out which medication she’s allergic to. My poor little chica! She had the best time during the holidays but I think they also took a lot out of her physically. Lev and I are still holding on for the moment, although Lev does seem to be coming down with a cold, AGAIN! It’s been super cold this weekend in Montpellier, it felt like -10C° and I think our Saturday trip to the park was a little too long. I already went into action yesterday and filled up on probiotics and we’ve been eating foods packed with vitamins so hopefully we’ll be able to get rid of it as quickly as it came on. Honestly, it hasn’t been the best start but we can only go up from here, right?

On a more positive note we picked up our new puppy last week and have been enjoying the puppy bliss ever since. Well, the cuddles and the playtime are great, the puddles and the poop not so much but it all comes with the territory hahaha. He’s so much fun and as tiring as it has been trying to figure out our new routine, I’m loving every minute of it.

Vid is obviously still with the national team and will be until the end of the month, but they are actually in Montpellier for a couple of days because they played a friendly pre-World Championship match against France. It’s going to be a long January as always but we’ve got the new pup to keep us busy. I have a feeling there will be lots of coffee, little sleep and tons of moments to remember 🙂

I’m sorry I haven’t posted that much in the last two weeks, It’s been hard for me to find the time during the holidays because we’ve been spending tons of time with family and obviously the kids kept me on my toes but we’re back to our regular schedules now so I’ll be picking up this space as usual. I’ve got a couple of fun posts coming up this week, including my winter SALE picks (sales start on Wednesday!), our New Year’ weekend trip and a couple of other fun ones. I’ll also share a little more of our puppy experience as the weeks go on. Chandler and I have our first puppy class today haha.

Anyways, I wanted to wish you all a wonderful start to 2017, I hope it was a healthier one than ours. I hope you all have an amazing year and thank you so much for following me along here! I appreciate it more than I could ever say. Thank you, thank you 🙂
