We wait for December 1st with a very high level of impatience here. The week before, I probably get asked three times a day on average if it’s already December. The reason for this is that Lara absolutely looooves Christmas. The whole shebang, marché de Noel, Christmas trees, and advent calendars. We even tried out a little DIY for advent candles this year. That girl loves her some Halloween but there’s nothing like the most magical time of the year for her.
But truth be told, I’m kind of bored with all the advent calendars grocery stores have to offer. Two years ago, I made her a DIY advent calendar with little treats that she could unwrap every day. She loved that, especially since I told her little elves prepared it for her. Last year she was gifted a princess chocolate one and was dead set on it so we just used that.
This year I found these really cool Playmobil advent calendars I had no idea even existed. Lara loves to play with Playmobil and she even requested the Playmobil castle or house for Christmas. So the advent calendar is fantastic because it includes a daily surprise such as figurines, animals and other accessories, so by the time she gets a home for them, they’ll already be there. They have a bunch of different calendars each year, so you can choose a particular theme. I got her the fairy one this year, but I saw there were also knight and dragons, Christmas rooms and many others. I got ours at our local grocery store but you can also easily pick them up on the Playmobil website, Amazon and a few other places.
Now, Mr. Lev isn’t quite ready for the Playmobil treasure advent calendar, although he does like to throw them 🙂 So I got him this Vtech Tut Tut buddies advent calendar instead. Cars that light up and play tunes are his jam so this was perfect! I got his off Amazon right here.
Happy December, may your house be merry!
