February Beauty Buys

I can not tell you how happy I am that February is finally over. It’s been a month of non-stop colds and I’m truly hoping March brings some immunity and spring into this house. I also haven’t really participated in the SALES! euphoria this year; the first few weeks the crowds were just insane and after that i just couldn’t really bring myself to do it. I did however, spend some time on make up and skincare (I’m obviously becoming a full-on beauty product junkie, no point in denying this anymore).

I picked up this Caudalie Detox clay mask for my weekend spa night and I love it so much. I’ve been using it for the past three weeks, once or twice a week and it hasn’t failed me yet. My skin feels super soft and clean the next day, it detoxes those nasty pores but in a super gentle way that doesn’t feel abrasive at all.  Since it doesn’t have the same properties and functions as the Nuxe mask, which is designed to brighten and even out your complexion, I can’t really compare them but I do admit that I actually prefer using the Caudalie. It comes out pink, goes on really smooth and is easy to apply. It then dries out and fades into a whiter shade on your face. I keep it on for 7-10 minutes max, then rinse off with warm water and apply my moisturizer.

Another thing I needed and finally settled on after weeks of research was concealer. I don’t know why I was making such a big deal out of this but when you have my dark circles concealer is a big deal I guess. I’ve been using this Benefit one until now and I loved but I just ran out and wanted to switch things up. I finally picked up the Nars creamy long lasting concealer in medium Custard shade. Reviews of it have been mixed but I have to say I’m really liking it so far. It definitely lasts the whole day and covers really, really well (I only use it under my eyes not on spots). The only thing I would say is that it can be a bit drying, so if your skin is that way too I would really recommend moisturizing the area well before applying. I put it on top of my foundation and it hasn’t gotten cakey at all.

The last thing I did, was go on a Kiko spree. When they do deals, they do deals! I picked up little creamy eyeshadow pots and sticks for like 3€ each. I think pots or eyeshadow sticks are perfect for daily use because you can just plop them on with your finger and it doesn’t require too much blending. I also have a couple of palettes I use for when I have more time (when’s that again?) but when I’m in a rush it’s all about pots and sticks. I have these three shades: 01 Pearly Party Vintage Rose, 04 Mat Taupe Rose, and the 38 Golden Taupe in long lasting stick. And I have to say these babies absolutely last the whole day.

That’s it for my February buys but i’m actually waiting on some new skincare products in the mail so I’ll talk about those in a few weeks time when I’ve had a chance to test them out.
