Knit Away With Wool And The Gang

FINISHINGLINE-TSHIRT

What do you think about knitting your own clothes? Like a gorgeous tank top or a shirt for example? If you asked me this out of nowhere, I’d say that a.) you have an amazing sense of humor or b.) sure, if what you really want is a towel instead of a shirt.

And then I found Wool and the Gang and I suddenly got really excited about knitting my very own “something”. They offer beginner friendly kits for “unfortunados” like myself born with an anti DIY gene, but you can also go up in difficulty once you get the hang of things. So I think I’ll start with this little Finishing Line T-Shirt and go on from there.

Wool and the Gang also sells ready to wear knits in case you’re not up for trying your hand in knitting but I actually think I’ll have this amazing sense of pride if I put on something I actually made.

Maybe I’ll even make us all hats for next winter. If it’s going to be as long as this one we’ll definitely need them.

The “Mom” Mug

mom_mug

I probably don’t need to reiterate my love for mugs, coffee, shoes or bags but whatever, here it goes. I love this mug, it says pretty much everything I’d want to have said before 8 AM. The end.

Oh, and have a great Monday :-)

Spring In Our Home

lr-1-vsco

As I mentioned yesterday we recently celebrated the first year in our first home we got together as a family. Before we moved and while we were renovating it we had so many ideas on ow we wanted to decorate it but then once the move-in day finally came around last March and the apartment wasn’t entirely, the decoration took a bit of a back seat and it’s taken us almost a year to get back in the groove. The office (for which I had big plans for by the way) now serves mainly as a storage room/guest bedroom/office so there’s still work to be done there. Our bedroom and Lara’s bedroom are all done, although Lara’s could use a bit of spring cleaning since it’s starting to feel a bit crammed in there. I’m most proud of our living room/dining room and kitchen. It’s where we spend most of our time playing, cooking, talking etc. so naturally most of our focus went there. I’m still on the constant hunt for new things like this little zebra head, which I think is awesome, and these owl bookends (the bf is totally against it, of course) but all in all it’s pretty much how we wanted it. My Project Life

pl-1

Lately the bf and I were talking about how we don’t document anything that’s happening in our lives. If you don’t count Instagram or Facebook we maybe, and I mean maybe, have two photo albums and both of those were gifts. I know, I know, it’s pretty bad. This is extremely uncharacteristic of me since I’m probably the most nostalgic person ever but strangely enough we really don’t have anything.

Around the same time my friend Åsa told me how she started her “Project Life” (she keeps track of her progress on her blog).  Me being completely clueless when it comes to scrapbooking and her being a bonafide pro, she explained to me what Project Life was. It’s basically a completely simple approach to scrapbooking that doesn’t take tons and tons of time but still allows you to keep memories in a super organized and cute way. The Project Life kit includes everything you need to start your very own story: a binder, a core kit and photo pocket pages. The core kit includes tons of cards that your can easily place alongside your photos in the pocket pages in order to easily tell your story the way you want to. The usual process is to document your life on a regular basis and I think you’re basically meant to get one for each year. Continue reading »
