I have no clue why everything in this gift guide took on a sparkly golden note but as I was selecting it, it seemed very glam gal appropriate. I got the Kiehls body butter on here as a gift myself a little while ago and let me tell you, that stuff is ahhhmazing. Of course, you can never go wrong with a sparkly iPhone cover, a little fun cocktail jewelry or a classic monogram mug with a twist.
Urban Decay’s Naked 2 eye shadow palette is every glam girl’s absolute must have and while I don’t necessarily consider myself particularly glamorous (at all!), I just got it as a little December treat for myself and I’m in love with the wide range of neutrals that can easily take your make up from day time to night time.
Oh, and that Clare Vivier pouch is just a dream! I would sure love for Santa to bring me one (hinting and winking until I’m practically squinting:-)).

The weather has been kind of off here temperature wise. Surprise, surprise, I know! It got a little cold last week and then this week we’re back to fresher mornings and warm afternoons. But this is actually my kind of weather. If I could have this 8 months a year, I’d be totally OK with it. Sweater weather kind of rocks and so does the wardrobe that comes with it. Ripped jeans are totally OK without the risk of having your knees freeze and fall off, you can put a cardi on (because let’ face it, cardigans are the greatest), or a light sweater with a pretty infinity scarf. I’m also a huge red nails fan during this time of the year but I’m also into the slightly darker oxbloodish/almost brown colors that just sort of represent October and November for me. Obviously nail polish is big around here.
But as far as my other body parts go, my skin tends to go a little crazy during the colder months. The creams I’ve been using during the summer just don’t cut it anymore and flaky skin is often my dreary companion. Enter Aesop, which is pretty much a life saver when it comes to body cream. Come on, altogether now, hallelujah!
Oh, and yeah I’m still in the process of buying a watch. Despite the fact that I’m constantly five minutes late to everything in life, a watch is never on the top of my shopping list. It’s almost like one of those adult life purchases I just can’t seem to bring myself to do. Oh well, maybe next month:-)
What are your go-to pieces this time of the year?
OK, so you know how I’m the least cratfy person ever, right? OK, good. Now let’s talk Wander and Hunt; an incredibly trendy craft store that’ll provide you with endless supplies to create super cool and fashionable DIY projects. Honestly, their kits could convince even someone as clueless as yours truly that she could create something awesome.
Something awesome, you say? Oh you mean like this a pair & a spare x Wander and Hunt DIY transparent satchel kit? Oh yeah ladies, oh yeah! Or perhaps something a little more casual like this bracelet?
I know, I know it’s pretty awesome for us DIY beginners out there.
Oh, and they ship pretty much everywhere!
It’s already Wednesday folks! Boy, do some days just get away from me! This week’s Etsy find is Leah Goren, which isn’t really an entirely new find because I already wrote about her pretty headbands last year. Remember? Well, as I stopped by her Etsy shop yesterday I saw a whole lotta other new gorgeousness happening in the shape of really cute dresses, silk tees and a canvas tote here and there. Talk about unique! The dresses are all 100% organic cotton (yayyyy!) as are most of the other materials used for her clothing. Pretty cool, huh?
I’m a big bag person. The bigger the better and I usually tend to gravitate towards satchel/tote/cross body like bags for my everyday business. I carry a ton of things with me on a daily basis so the only time a small bag or a clutch is actually viable is for a date night or a night out on the town. One of these days I’m going to show you what’s in my bag and I promise you that half the things in there have absolutely nothing to do with the previously mentioned everyday business, make up or anything that belongs in my age group for that matter. It’s more of a 3 year old girl’s on-the-go storage bin.
That said I’ve been seriously considering a more structured like purse for my next imaginary bag investment. Because obviously kid’s storage bins needs some structure. No but seriously, structured bags equal chic and ladylike in my opinion, and while I don’t necessarily consider myself either these things per se (unless ladies can walk around with unwashed hair for days and have more sneakers than actual shoes), I think I could definitely handle Rebecca Minkoff’s new “Elle” bag or Kate Spade’s “Beau”. The Beau in particular has been on my mind ever since I first caught a glimpse of it in this fun video below. Aren’t Kate Spade videos just the cutest? Remember this?
