Converse X CDG Play

As an avid sneakers lover and a die hard Converse fan until the very end, I’m usually pretty pumped when Converse does a collaboration with another brand. I’m especially pumped when that brand happens to be Comme des Garçons PLAY and it looks something like this. This is the third time CDG has partnered up with Converse on a collection and even though the Converse x Missoni collab from a few years ago remains my top coveted Converse sneaker, I wouldn’t actually fight a pair of these heart covered leather hi tops either.

Would it be too cheesy is I said I heart them?

These babies will launch online and at Comme Des Garçons stores on the 28th of May.

Knit Away With Wool And The Gang

What do you think about knitting your own clothes? Like a gorgeous tank top or a shirt for example? If you asked me this out of nowhere, I’d say that a.) you have an amazing sense of humor or b.) sure, if what you really want is a towel instead of a shirt.

And then I found Wool and the Gang and I suddenly got really excited about knitting my very own “something”. They offer beginner friendly kits for “unfortunados” like myself born with an anti DIY gene, but you can also go up in difficulty once you get the hang of things. So I think I’ll start with this little Finishing Line T-Shirt and go on from there.

Wool and the Gang also sells ready to wear knits in case you’re not up for trying your hand in knitting but I actually think I’ll have this amazing sense of pride if I put on something I actually made.

Maybe I’ll even make us all hats for next winter. If it’s going to be as long as this one we’ll definitely need them.

Adidas by Stella McCartney Spring/Summer 2013

You know how started I working on getting back into shape and make more time for working out lately? Well, it’s been going pretty good, excluding this past week of course, when I went from nurse to patient in a matter of hours and the only thing I worked out was my Apple TV remote control and the thermometer.

I’m generally not a person who likes to wear fancy workout clothes when sweating my butt off. I much more prefer my cotton old college tees and leggings. I don’t know why, nice workout clothes just seem too nice for me to actually sweat in. Anyone else feel that way?

There is one exception to this preference of mine though and it’s called Adidas by Stella McCartney. I just love it so much I would wear it anywhere and that includes the gym (which I realize is where it’s meant for). I’ve been a big fan since the beginning of their collaboration back in 2004 and my fondness for the cool and at times a tad futuristic workout clothes has only grown since. I’m particularly in like with the yoga collection. It’s always completely on point.

Shades Of Summer: Carrera 5001

It’s that time of the year when the sunny days begin to outnumber the cloudy and rainy ones (I hope). It’s also the time of the year I start venturing in stores with sunglasses, thinking about “the shades of summer”.

I’ve been dying to get a pair of Ray Ban’s Wayfarers for years now but I just can’t find a model that would sit right on my nose/face. (For the record I just read that last sentence and it sounds really bad, but I’m going to go ahead and assume everyone knows what I mean). The typical wayfarer tilt is just a bit too much for me and it looks off, which is too bad. I found a D&G alternative last year on sale that fits great and I love them but I really want a slightly funkier pair with mirrored lenses as well just to spice it up a little. Basically, I’d want to dress and pretend I’m going to Coachella or some other amazing musical festival. We’ve all got our dream destinations right?

And boy did I find them! I spotted the Carrera 5001 model on model Cara Delevigne (see what just happened there) and fell instantly in love. They’re pretty affordable too, they go for $99 in the US and I found them here for 95€. They’ve got a few different colors but the metal violet and orange is my personal favorite.

One way or another, they shall be mine!
